Position Statement Regarding All Countryside Sports
MAWC recognizes that natural resources are limited and advocates for the sharing of said natural resources.
MAWC recognizes the need to work with and to extend good will to other user groups of natural resources
MAWC recognizes the need for statewide oversight of the management of wildlife and endeavors to work with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to manage those resources for the benefit of all Marylanders.
MAWC recognizes that Maryland’s natural resources cannot sustain the current deer population, and without effective population management, all wildlife will be negatively impacted, in addition to agricultural resources. MAWC supports an aggressive approach to effective deer herd reduction, for the increased enjoyment of all natural resources by all citizens.
MAWC supports DNR working with the general public and via the constitutionally sound legislative and regulatory methods to apply a science-based approach to wildlife management that continues to support a variety of methods of the pursuit of game.
