The 2nd Annual MAWC Chase took place on Sunday, November 17 at Jackson Hole Farm in Upperco (Baltimore County). The mounted field consisted of over 60 riders, plus the masters and staff of the Green Spring Valley Hounds. Another dozen out so followed the in cars. It was a glorious day of chasing, with representation from 13 of Maryland’s hunt clubs, as well as visitors from two out of state clubs.
The foxes were plenty and the hound work spectacular! After more than three hours and three foxes put to ground, Huntsman Ashley Hubbard gathered his hounds and the field headed in, where a delicious tea awaited, prepared by Jerry and Sheila Brown in their lovely, historic home.
Over $6500 was raised to help MAWC continue its mission of protecting and preserving countryside sport and open space in our state. Many thanks to Lauren Fanning, Carol Fenwick, Karen Kandra, Bob Keller, Pat Michaels, and Tammie Monaco, who captured the day in photos! Please enjoy their images via the following links!
